 October 20, 2007 After almost 4 years, The Motherjumpers have decided to call it a day. We've broken up. Sometimes things were good, sometimes not so good, but one thing was always contast; we fuckin' rocked. We made some pretty good music in this time, had good laughs, released a nice CD, and met alotta cool people. We played some of NYC's better music venues and drank alotta booze. So, on November 1st 2007, won't you come join us as we celebrate the time we spent together at our final show? If you've never seen us play, well, this is your chance. If you have, come out and get your socks rocked off one last time. There are other great bands on that night, so come early (first act is at 7:30pm SHARP! We're on at 9:30pm sharp.) Takenobu, Black Pig, EdibleRed, and Next Tribe will be there to dance our "last waltz" with us. We really hope you can be there. Thank you all for your support over the last few years. It meant alot. September 31, 2007 Hope you all had a great Summer! Now, on to the Fall! We've got some shows planned, the closest one being THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27th at MATCHLESS in Williamsburg. We haven't played Williamsburg since 2004, so we're excited about this. Matchless is a cool rock'n'roll dive bar so this will be fun. We'll rock the crap outta that joint, so come on down!!! You can find a flyer on our SHOWS page. We're also planning another big rock show at DON HILL'S for THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 1st. Featuring our friends Black Pig, EdibleRed, Takenobu... it's gonna be an eclectic night of good, NYC music with the MJs' at the helm. July 17, 2007 Hello, friends! Hope you're all having a fun Summer. We're still recording our 2nd album, but in the meantime, we're going to regale you with our BIG SUMMER SHOW!!! SATURDAY AUGUST 4th is the date, ARLENE'S GROCERY is the place! We've got some NEW SONGS to play, as well as some of your favorites! This really is gonna be a fun night of MJs' rock... we're very excited... tell everyone! You wont wanna miss this! We're on at 9:45pm. Check out out SHOWS PAGE for a wacky flyer with all the info. MAY 16, 2007 On Sunday, May 27th (Memorial Day Eve) we'll be doing an acoustic show... with a twist. We're gonna be "BY REQUEST": just yell out your favorite Motherjumpers' song and maybe we'll play it for you! After the show, we drink and fun it up as usual.
Hello, 'Jumpers!
We hope you've all had a great Thansgiving, healthy and happy. Everything on our end is going good, and we're happy to announce that we'll be joining in the Holiday celebrations with what we're dubbing "A HOLIDAY ROCKTACULAR!" We put together a night of music, friends, booze, and fun... FRIDAY, DECEMBER 22nd is the date, and DON HILL'S is the place! We'll be sharing the stage this night with some great musicians and equally great friends! The night kicks off at 7:00pm with Virginia's own JUSTIN JONES & THE DRIVING RAIN. After him, the incomparable KIERSTIN GRAY, playing with her band. Following her, the stage will be destroyed by the energetic and animalistic rocking of Brooklyn's own BLACK PIG!!! And to top this all off, as if that all wasn't enough good music for ya, THE MOTHERJUMPERS will perform... with special guests! This is gonna be a fun night. After the bands, there will be more music, and the party continues through the night, with a DJ, drink specials, and all around good times. We really hope you can make it. Also this night, we will be unveiling the new Motherjumpers' t-shirts! Ten bucks!!! They'll make great Christmas / Hannukah / Kwanza gifts!!! Check our SHOWS page for details. .......................................................................................................................................We've also been making some connections and getting our CD out to some area college radio stations; NYU, Baruch, College Of Staten Island, and a few others. So, if you're so inclined, call up these stations' DJs and request they play THE MOTHERJUMPERS! Word of mouth is the best advertisement. The recording of our next CD is going really well. With our lead guitarist PAUL "PAULIE PORKCHOPS" WEISS at the helm, manning the recording console, things are sounding really great!!! On Columbus Day, Paul tracked lead guitars for three songs, on top of the already recorded guitars of Christian and Tommy (and of course the uber-fantastic rythym section of Chuck and Michael, who laid down the foundation of rock we'll be building our rock'n'roll monolith on!) News to come... Can you say "Motherjumpers T-shirts"?!? We hope so! Keep your eyes peeled... And last but not least, we have a show booked for NOVEMBER. The MJs will be rockin' hell out of the stage at ARLENE'S GROCERY. We played there back in March to a PACKED HOUSE!... and it sounded AMAZING! This return gig at Arlene's should be no different.
